CMC
OFFICE of DISABILITY SERVICES
|
General Information
The Cape May County Office of Disability Services works as an information
and referral resource for the residents of Cape May County. The Office strives to provide assistance to individuals with
disabilities, as well as to their friends and family in order to empower
them through knowledge. Community resource information both public and
private is disseminated to residents through the Office. Keeping abreast
and apprised of new organizations and programs, and aiding in community
awareness are all responsibilities of the Office. All Office activities
are aimed at the goal of improving the quality of life for all residents
of Cape May County
and to ensure full and equal participation in all aspects of life.
The office assists CMC in planning and identifying the need for services
while also providing assistance in developing or locating services where
none exist, and avoiding duplication of services which are already in
place.
The office also offers services which guide individuals to more effectively
manage their situations and resolve their problems. The office works
closely with the Committee on Disability Services of the CMC Human Services
Advisory Council.
The office is operated by the Jersey Cape Diagnostic, Training &
Opportunity Center, Inc., under a contract with Cape May County.
